In this role, you will act as the first line of defence - performing ongoing transaction monitoring, PEP and sanctions screening, and corporate client onboarding, making well-reasoned AML/CTF decisions, and escalating suspicious activity, sanction hits and complex cases to the MLRO. Reporting directly to the MLRO, you will help ensure our KYC, AML and CTF controls remain effective in a fast-moving, heavily regulated environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Analysing and assessing alerts generated by transaction monitoring systems;
  • Acting as a first line of defence when monitoring and screening sanctions, analysing possible matches and making decisions on false positives;
  • Requesting, collecting and evaluating supporting information in line with internal procedures and regulatory requirements;
  • Making well-reasoned AML/CTF decisions and clearly communicating outcomes to relevant stakeholders;
  • Escalating possible suspicious activity, sanction hits, and complex cases to the MLRO for further handling;
  • Ensuring ongoing compliance of the KYC, AML and CTF programme, processes and instructions with the applicable requirements of legal acts;
  • Performing corporate client onboarding, including collection, verification and assessment of legal and corporate documentation;
  • Ensuring the MLRO is provided with sufficient and exhaustive information to further perform the required AML/CTF checks and verifications in order to onboard or reject a client
  • Properly tracking handled cases (ongoing monitoring and/or screening of transactions and/or KYC) under all required logs, and delivering against the KPIs and SLAs set for the covered functions;
  • Continuously providing feedback on possible or needed changes and improvements to processes and procedures;
  • Staying up to date with internal policies, procedures and escalated changes within compliance systems, and being proactive in following legislative changes, regulatory recommendations and industry best practices on AML/CTF, KYC, client onboarding, PEP and sanctions screening;
  • Undertaking any other duties as determined by the direct manager or the higher management line/body of the Company.
